John Tomaszewski, Chip Dee Academy of Music Instructor


images408061_822314059208_1724157419_n John Tomaszewski started studying with Chip at age 14 and has been playing the guitar for well over 15 years and isn’t stopping anytime soon. He is a seasoned instructor at Chip Dee’s Academy of Music for many years and a graduate of William Paterson University with a degree in Sound Engineering Arts and Music.

Favorite Instrument?
Fender Stratocaster = Jimi Hendrix   

Why Teach?
The academy’s emphasis on music as a language and education really appeals to John, There is nothing more satisfying than passing on the musical information I’ve learned over the past 15 years of playing. You just can’t beat that connection.”

Like many of the Chip Dee Academy of Music instructors, John’s in the process of debuting his first solo album. “It’s been something I’ve been working on for many years and now it’s almost ready for show time, ” John admits.

The Chip Dee Academy of Music is all about setting goals and finding as many innovative ways to get the student body motivated to stay on track.  John sets the same unbridled goals for himself as an artist, “I would like to learn how to play as many different styles of music my fingers will allow.”

Jimi Hendrix is one of the reasons I started playing guitar. As a kid I would listen to his “Are You Experienced” album over and over.”

Best Place To Perform In The World?
The Chip Dee Academy of Music stresses the idea of thinking big so naturally John dreams big as well, “Madison Square Garden, if you play in that building, you’re selling a lot of albums.”
