Piano & Keyboard Lessons

The piano‘s versatility and ubiquity played by means of a keyboard a have made it one of the world’s most familiar and popular musical instruments in the world.  Chip Dee Academy of Music we teach classical, jazz, and rock / pop piano for solo performances, ensemble use, chamber music and accompaniment.  Chip uses the piano for composing and rehearsal.

Guitar Lessons

The guitar is a string instrument that can be either acoustics or electric with six steel strings when used for rock, jazz, folk, country, etc. or nylon strings when used for classical. The bass guitar is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, tapping, thumping, or picking.

The bass guitar is similar in appearance and construction to an electric guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and four and five and four, five, six or eight strings, tuned an octave lower.

At Chip Dee Academy of Music we teach all levels and styles of guitar and bass playing.

BRich3QDrum & Percussion Lessons

The drum is a member of the percussion group of musical instruments. We teach snare drum and drum set as well as all percussion studies. You will learn to play all styles as well as reading music and developing technique.

Vocal Lessons

At Chip Dee Academy of Music,  vocal music is a genre of music performed by one or more singers, with or without instrumental accompaniment,  in which singing (i.e. vocal performance) provides the main focus of the piece. Vocal music is probably the oldest form of music.

Singing & Songwriting Lessons

Songwriting is a craft that encompasses many different genres and forms. Thus, it requires a working knowledge of how songs are arranged lyrically, musically, and harmonically.  As a professional song-writer and singer, Chip provides instruction on the fine art and nuances of singing as well as performance so students achieve maximum results and enjoyment.

Trombone & Trumpet Lessons

The trombone is in the brass family. Like all brass instruments, sound is produced when the player’s vibrating lips cause the air column inside the instrument to vibrate. Nearly all trombones have a telescoping slide mechanism that varies the length of the instrument to change the pitch. Instead of a slide, the valve trombone has three valves like those on a trumpet.  The word trombone derives from Italian tromba (trumpet) and -one (a suffix meaning “large”), so the name means “larger trumpet”.  The most frequently encountered trombones are the tenor trombone and bass trombone.

JBellQWoodwinds & Violin Lessons

Woodwinds are a family of musical instruments within the more general category of wind instruments.  There are two main types: flutes and reed instruments.  What differentiates these instruments from other wind instruments is the way in which they produce their sound. Woodwinds can be soprano, alto, tenor or bass.  The violin is a string instrument, usually with four strings tuned in perfect fifths.  It is the smallest, highest-pitched member of the violin family of string instruments, which also includes the viola and cello.
